Onsite Testing Services
AnchorMark utilise the services of independent testing parties. Onsite testing can be required where the substrate, anchor design or anchors do not adhere to the ETA specification. In these cases, either destructive or non-destructive tests that prove the load requirements are performed.

AS 5216 “Design of post-installed and cast-in fastenings in concrete”
AS 5216:2018 “Design of post-installed and cast-in fastenings in concrete” is the deemed-to-satisfy solution for the design of post-installed and cast-in fasteners in Australia. AS 5216:2018 is referenced in the current National Construction Code (NCC 2019), meaning this is the standard to follow to meet the NCC requirements.
Australian Engineered Fasteners and Anchors Council (AEFAC) has been leading the development of AS 5216. A new edition of the design standard, AS 5216:2021, has been published by Standard Australia. The new edition of the standard has several additional provisions to the design of post-installed and cast-in anchors. The addition includes seismic design of fasteners, post-installed reinforcing bars, anchor channel loaded in all possible loading directions and redundant non-structural fasting systems.
National Construction Code (NCC) is updated every three years. There has been some delay in release and adoption this time. NCC 2022 has been published by the Australian Building Codes Board (ABCB) recently and will be effective from the 1st of May 2023. NCC 2022 refers to AS 5216:2021, and thus the new standards, AS 5216:2021, will be effective from the 1st of May 2023.
AS 5216 covers pre-qualification and design of fasteners and applies to safety-critical applications. The fasteners to be designed need to be independently tested and assessed for fit-for-purpose (called pre-qualification). Appendix A of the standard has the requirements for testing and assessment.
AS 5216 requires all the fasteners to be pre-qualified in accordance with Appendix A for safety-critical applications. The fasteners should have been tested and assessed independently to check their suitability for the intended use; and accompanied by the pre-qualification report. AS 5216 refers to European Assessment Documents (EADs) for the testing and assessment requirements.
A product with a European Technical Assessment (ETA) meets the requirement of Appendix A of AS 5216.

DesignFix® – C-Fix Benefits for the Installation of Anchors according to AS 5216:2018
When C-Fix has been used to design and specify an anchor according to AS 5216:2018, a report can be produced that includes the installation instructions for that application.
These reports can then be given to the installer so that they can ensure that the installation is according to the design and hence the standard. Screenshots of a sample report are provided below:
